Jägarnäsbadet in Dalarna County 😍 Beautiful Sweden

The middle sister and I grabbed 4 of our kids (my two boys, her youngest son, and then our third sister's youngest son) and headed to Dalarna for a few days. Middle sister had rented a cabin at a camping place that would sleep all 6 of us. She has been there before with youngest sister, but that was a decade ago before all these kiddos were born.

True to form, we hadn't really planned out the trip. One of my ongoing goals/commitments is to be more proactive/do more planning. STAR, STAR. (One of my professors during my undergrad used to say STAR, STAR when something was really important and would show up on the exam.) So becoming more forward looking is definitely STAR, STAR for me.

Anyways, on Saturday morning when we were at the gas station before we headed off on the 4-hour drive, we googled a beach about halfway to our destination, and we came up with: Jägarnäsbadet.

We definitely thanked our lucky star for sending us to this beach, as it was astoundingly beautiful with a beach that was kid friendly and even included a soccer field with 2 goals so there was both running around playing soccer plus the swim.

This pit stop made the expensive airline tickets worth it!

I've since learned that Ludvika (where Jägarnäsbadet is situated) has these beautiful beaches in every small village around, and even in the city itself. Lucky Swedes!

During the first hour of driving my rental car started showing a light, meaning something needed to get fixed on the car. It was low tire pressure on the front left tire. Ugh! After driving some time and not finding a place to pull over to fill the tire up, I found a gas station without any attending workers. I talked with a guy who was there filling his car up, he told me that they have closed all manned gas stations up in this area (Dalarna) and that just a year ago the mechanics place around the corner had closed. No help there for me. He told me to "drive safe" as we took off again. Luckily, I made the decision to drive into a camping some minutes later. The camping owner (Michael!) was super kind and helped me fill and check all my tires while we chatted about his camping. Since the camping is only open in the summer, he is currently on the hunt for some Winter work as well. I hope he finds what he is looking for!
